RIVAS, NICARAGUA

Pedals for Progress has placed more than 35% of the adult population of Rivas, Nicaragua,
on wheels, and has created a self-supporting local bicycle import, assembly and repair business.
This project has noticeably boosted local economic activity by generating funds for replacing
roofs on schools, laying potable water lines, and building an infant feeding center.
This program has influenced municipal investments and transportation policy.
