DAVID SCHWEIDENBACK NAMED A 2008 CNN HERO!

Pedals for Progress Founder David Schweidenback will be featured on CNN during American Morning this Friday morning. CNN is recognizing the important contribution P4P has made in the last 17 years - to communities and families in developing countries and to the environment in the US and around the globe. Click on the CNN Heroes link below to learn more. Starting Friday, Dave and P4P will be the "hero" featured in the center of this page.

Since 1991, P4P has rescued over 115,000 bikes and 1,000 sewing machines and $11M in spare parts from overburdened U.S. landfills and shipped them to poor people in 32 countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Over 116,000 poor families are living better lives because they have the simple mobility of a bike - to get to a job, to attend school, to receive medical attention. P4P's work with overseas partners to maintain the bikes has helped develop local economies in some of the poorest countries around the globe.
