Report from the Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association, October 2026

Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association Bike RiderFor our field teams, getting to the places where they work can take time. This means less time for patrols, responding slower to conservation emergencies, and challenges for those who have families waiting for them at home.

That is why we are so grateful to have received 400 bicycles from Pedals for Progress to support our conservation work across Rwanda.

“Before receiving my bicycle, I had to prepare my children in the morning and then walk for hours to reach some patrol areas. I often arrived late and worried about getting home late and missing time with my children. Now, with my bicycle, I can reach patrol areas faster, respond to my duties on time, and still return home to be with my family. This bicycle will make a big difference in my life, helping me balance my responsibilities as a Ranger and a mother while continuing to protect the marsh.”

A big thank you to Pedals for Progress for helping our teams go further in protecting Rwanda’s wildlife and natural habitats.
